Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi impenetrable National Park.

On the 1st day of the safari, your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe he will welcome you and then brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will start on a long, but incredibly scenic drive that is approximately 8 to 9 hours southwest towards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. During the journey you will make a first stopover at Uganda Equator Line (Kayabwe) to take the classic photo opportunity and then to witness the water experiment demonstrating the Coriolis Effect, as well there are craft shops in case you want to buy a souvenir.

After the experience you will continue with your journey through changing landscapes including tea plantations, rolling hills and rural Ugandan villages and others. You will have the en-route lunch in one of the restaurants Mbarara or any suitable town along the way. After lunch you will drive from Mbarara as the drive becomes stunning as you approach the Kigezi Highlands, often referred to as ‘’the Switzerland of Africa’’. Upon your arrival to your chosen lodge in the specific sector of Bwindi to where your gorilla trekking permit is booked that is (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo).  You will check in then relax enjoy your dinner with traditional Ugandan flavors and get an early night’s sleep.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park (Rushaga sector).

On the 2nd day of the safari, after an early breakfast you will carry your packed lunch and then your driver guide will pick you from the lodge and then transfer you to the park headquarters for the briefing you will start trekking in the forest with the team of the researches, park guides and trackers, park rangers and among others which takes you a whole day. During the trekking you will have views of the biodiversity. And once the gorillas are located, you will have the chance to watch them doing their daily activities like breastfeeding, playing, monitoring and observing their characters, taking pictures and recording their movies, and many more. After the four hours of experience you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for taking part in gorilla habituation experience, and then meet your safari driver guide to transfer to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

On the 3rd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet with your safari guide and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park that takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and along the way you will have en-route lunch and upon your arrival you will have incredible game viewing experience until you reach at your lodge and then check in for relaxation and later enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast, after breakfast you will meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park to sight the early risers, the game drive is such perfect that takes you to the verdant savannah plains to where you will sight the big four mammals of the big five mammals that includes the lions, buffaloes, leopards and elephants, as well as other mammals during the experience, without forgetting the bird species. After the game drive you will transfer to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will again come for more experience to do afternoon boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George that is known for having the largest numbers of the hippopotamuses in the country, as well you will spot the giant crocodiles and lots of bird species including cormorants, African fish eagles, bee-eaters, yellow-bellied storks, African jacana and among others, and others. You will see other animals along the water shores that come to drink and soak up the channel. After you will transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala.

On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and begin your journey to Kampala with the enroute lunch along the way. As you exist the lodge you will have the en-route game drive to spot the early risers that offers you fascinating safari experience. Upon your arrival you will be dropped at your convenient place either at the airport or to your hotel in Kampala that will make your safari come to the end.
