Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park.
You will be picked up from Entebbe International Airport or from your hotel in Kampala by your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris on the 1st day of the 3 days Uganda gorilla trekking tour. He will welcome and then brief you about the safari.
After the briefing you drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park that is located in the Southwestern Uganda that is about 8 to 9 hours, although the driving distance seem to be long its worth because you get amazed the countryside scenery with some of the fresh up stopovers like Kayabwe at the equator for the experiments and then taking pictures and then later embark on the journey until in Mbarara to where you will make another stopover for lunch.
After lunch you will continue with your journey with the scenic views until Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with the beautiful landscapes ranging from plantations, hills and others to the Virunga massive along the way. The driving distance is such wonderful for you it’s you to keep your cameras close to you as your safari driver will be making stopovers in order to take the beautiful moments. You will reach the lodge in the evening and upon you arrival you will check in your lodge and then check in, be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your blissful breakfast. After breakfast you will carry your lunch, and meet your safari guide and he will transfer you to the park’s headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing of the rules and regulations to follow by the experienced park ranger and guides. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with the various gorilla trekking traits. Gorilla trekking takes a period of about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
During gorilla trekking you will be attracted with the diverse spotting of various animal species like forest elephants, bushbucks, bush pigs and other and primate species like black and white colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and various bird species including African green pigeon, African harrier hawk, and others. And once the mountain gorillas are spotted you be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas, that is watching them feeding, playing, breastfeeding, mating, making their nests for the next night, mothers grooming their young ones, taking pictures and recording their videos and among others. After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will be will receive the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience you will be transferred for the Batwa community experience this is where you will interact with them, check out their curio shops, enjoying their dances and songs, and among others. Later you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure.
On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and meet your Uganda safari guide and then get ready to transfer back to Kigali, as you exist the lodge along the way you will enjoy the wonderful views of Kigezi hills, terraced gardens of the Bakiga people, banana plantations, admiring the exceptional scenery and among others. You will have enroute lunch, and after lunch you will proceed with your journey until you reach Kampala, and once you arrive your safari guide will dropped at the airport to catch a flight back home or to your hotel in Kampala that will make your safari come to the end.
