Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tour and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3: Transfer to Kisoro/ Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

Day 5: Explore Lake Bunyonyi and then transfer to Kigali.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up, Kigali city tour and then transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

On the 1st day of the safari, depending on your location your African Vacation Safari guide will pick you from Kigali International Airport or from your hotel and then transfer you to Kigali city tour; this is where you will explore some attractions like genocide memorial site, visiting Kimironko market and others. After the Kigali city tour you will be transferred for lunch.

After lunch, you will proceed with you journey to Ruhengeri this is close place to Volcanoes National Park that is located in the northern part of Rwanda, with the stunning views along the way. And once you arrive you be transferred to your lodge to where you will check in and then be served with dinner, then relax and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

On the 2nd of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast, after breakfast with your packed lunch and the water you will meet your safari driver, and then he will transfer you to the park headquarters at 7:00am for the rules, regulations about gorilla trekking. After briefing you will start your gorilla trekking experience in the presence of the experienced and then skilled park rangers and guides. Gorilla trekking takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location and then movement of the gorillas with the incredible views of the park’s attractions like animal species, bird species and then unique plant and tree species. And once the gorillas are located, you will be given one hour to be in the presence of the mountain gorillas that is watching them feeding, playing, mating, hunting, breastfeeding, taking pictures, recording movies and among others. After the one hour you will transfer to the starting point and be awarded with gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. And then you will return back to your lodge and then later you will go for the optional community tour around the Ruhengeri for the Rwanda cultural experience, and then later dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kisoro/ Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy breakfast, after breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then start with your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park through Kisoro town for the second gorilla trekking to the destination with the half of the world’s remaining number of gorillas. Along the way you will have the en-route lunch and then enter Uganda through Cyanika border arriving Kisoro in the afternoon and proceed to Bwindi. Upon your arrival you will relax at your lodge, and then later be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

On the 4th day of the safari, get up in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast together with your packed lunch, meet your safari guide and then transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped in various groups of about 8 members per group, and each group will be assigned with the experienced park ranger and park guide to lead them in the forest to look for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, this is where you will trek through the steep, densely forested hills while fascinated with the various primates, bird species, and animal species and among many others in the forest. And once you find the gorillas you will be given one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas that is keeping 7 meters away from them. This is when you will watch the gorillas doing their daily activities like playing, grooming, feeding, mating and others. During that period that’s when you will take the pictures and then recording their videos. And after the experience you will trek back to the starting point and then your driver guide will transfer you to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Explore Lake Bunyonyi and then transfer to Kigali.

On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for the canoe riding, through admiring the various islands, spotting various bird species and among many others. After the experience you will transfer to one of the hotels for lunch, and after lunch you will proceed to Kigali city and once you arrive your safari guide will transfer you to your convenient place of destination either at Kigali International Airport for your flight back home or to your hotel in Kigali that will bring your safari to the end.
