Day 1: Arrival and Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
On the 1st day of the 3 days Fly-in Bwindi gorilla safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris and then transfer to Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield, to where you will board a scheduled domestic flight ton either Kihihi to Kisoro airstrip which are the closet airfields to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The flight duration takes about 1hour and 15 minutes with the spectacular aerial views from above.
Upon your arrival, your driver guide will be waiting to transfer you to your lodge in Bwindi, that takes less hour’s drive, depending on your lodge’s location and then the specific sector of Bwindi to where you will trek the gorillas from (Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo). Once you arrive to your lodge, this is the day for relaxing and then enjoying the lodge’s surroundings or optional you may have the optional community visit with the Batwa pygmy people, and then later you will transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park.
On the 2nd day of the safari, get up early in the morning and then enjoy breakfast after breakfast you will meet your safari guide and then with your packed lunch and then transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking from the skilled and experienced park rangers and guides. After the briefing you will be grouped in various groups of 8 members per group and then each group led by the experienced guides to the forest trails while searching for the gorillas, this takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas, because these creatures move to various areas looking for food and then shelters.
Along the way looking for the gorillas you will be thrilled with unique sighting of the park’s animal species, bird species, plant species and tree species. And once the gorillas are located you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas that is watching them feeding, playing, grooming, breastfeeding, taking pictures and recording movies and among others. After the experience you will transfer back to the starting point to where you will be awarded with gorilla trekking certificates for participating in gorilla trekking. Optional you will go to the Batwa community tours to where you will get the chance to interact with the Batwa people and many more, later you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and then enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then your driver guide will transfer you to the airstrip (Kihihi or Kisoro) for your return flight to Entebbe, From Entebbe you will connect to your international flight or extend your stay in Uganda.
